| My Profile |
||||||
| When I completed the “Drive of Your Life” game, I discovered that my personal style profile was: practical, structured and influential, (not really). The three careers that match my style are: air traffic controller, (God help us all), lawyer, and a mechanical engineer. From this information I have decided to explore becoming a roller coaster designer so I will go to college to become a mechanical engineer. I selected this job because I enjoy riding roller coasters and drawing my own roller coasters. One of my daily activities as a mechanical engineer would be to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports. I also have to specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications. In addition, I have to research, design, evaluate, install, operate, and maintain mechanical products, equipment, systems and processes to meet requirements, applying knowledge of engineering principles. To work as a mechanical engineer, I need to have a bachelor's degree. I must be good at looking at the required resources to create designs, and choose the most efficient way of doing things in order to become a well trained mechanical engineer. In the United States, the average salary for a mechanical engineer $78,200 per year. In the state of Virginia, the average annual salary is $90,860. In the United States by the year 2016, employment for a mechanical engineer is expected to increase by 4.2%. In the state of Virginia by the year 2016 it is expected to increase by 10.8%. I am looking forward to becoming a mechanical engineer in the future. (Even though I don't think it will happen) |
